Early College at MBU

Students at Summer Orientation

You’re ready for the next big thing. Early College at Mary Baldwin University is made for you. We know you have big things ahead of you, and that you’re ready to face new challenges and new opportunities. If you’re tired of waiting for your life to get started, Early College at MBU may be exactly what you need.

The co-ed Early College Program at MBU offers gifted 16- and 17-year-old students the chance to skip their final years of high school and leap forward into college and their careers. Early College is not a dual-certification program. It’s not honors classes at a satellite campus.

It’s real college, right now.

Everything MBU has to offer, early.

MBU has empowered generation after generation of people like you. Through the Early College program, you can access all of the resources and opportunities of MBU, right now. You’ll study with instructors who are at the top of their fields, and our low student-to-faculty ratio means you’ll get one-on-one attention and the kind of personal recognition that only a university like MBU can offer.

You’ll study alongside other accelerated students like you, as well as our traditional undergraduate campus community. With a wide array of majors, minors, and concentrations, you’ll have the freedom to choose your own path.

You’ll be part of MBU’s diverse and vibrant campus community, living in our residence halls and experiencing all campus life has to offer, along with the extended community of the city of Staunton. Female Early College students also have the option to live in Tyson Hall, a fully-supervised all-female residence hall with support staff available around the clock. You can take on leadership roles in student organizations, clubs and teams, including our NCAA Division III athletic teams.

You’ll participate in MBU traditions like Apple Day, Spring Fling, and the MBU Capstone Festival, where students present their scholarly and artistic works to the wider campus community and the public. You’ll have the opportunity to study abroad, and to build your resume with internships, service projects, and real-world experience through MBU’s partnerships.

In short: You’ll be an MBU student, embarking early on the next stage of your academic journey.
