First-Ever All-Alumni Homecoming Gives Alums More Chances to Reconnect

For alumni who attend Reunion faithfully, seeing classmates is often the highlight of the weekend. But what about those friends who were in another class, but who were just as special? For many alumni, it has been decades since they’ve reconnected with those Mary Baldwin friends who lived down the hall or sat next to them in class.

In conjunction with Mary Baldwin’s 175th anniversary, the university is inviting all alumni back to Staunton to congregate with friends for a special Homecoming Weekend, April 20–23. It is the first time all alumni have been welcomed back to Mary Baldwin at the same time.

“So many alums are excited about seeing those long-lost friends who weren’t necessarily in their class,” said Theresa Cash Lewis ’99, president of the Alumni Association. “This event will ensure plenty of intergenerational mingling of alumni who represent the very best of Mary Baldwin.”

Among the special scheduled activities for Homecoming Weekend is a special 175th anniversary exhibition at the R.R. Smith Center and anniversary celebration at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel, both in downtown Staunton and a Bloody Mary reception, a tent crawl throughout upper campus, and the grand re-opening and dedication of the newly renovated Alumnae House.
