For Parents and Families
College is the ideal time for students to gain the cross-cultural competence they need to become active, engaged citizens in our increasingly interdependent world. Students who study abroad become more independent and self-aware, and they are more likely to improve their GPA and complete their degree on time. The majority of students who study abroad during their time at Mary Baldwin do so during May Term, when they join famliar classmates and trusted faculty members for one to three weeks of immersive study in a new culture. Students can also study abroad during the summer, semester, or academic year through Mary Baldwin’s partner institutions.
