  • The Office of Media Relations and Publications works with print, electronic, and broadcast media outlets to publicize all aspects of Mary Baldwin University, including newsmakers, programs, initiatives, and events. They also respond to media requests for information, story ideas, and faculty  and staff experts.

    The team produces the Mary Baldwin News site, which is updated several times each week, and its email counterparts, The Cupola Now, which is distributed weekly to the entire college community, and Cupola Connect, delivered monthly to alumnae/i and friends of the college. Boldly Baldwin, the Mary Baldwin University magazine, and the annual Academic Catalog are also projects from the media and publications team. Members manage production of departmental newsletters, fundraising and recruiting brochures, and promotional materials for major events.

    This manual contains standards (including examples of acceptable and unacceptable usage) for usage and style (such as standard abbreviations for academic degrees, capitalization rules, dashes, treatment of numbers in text, and more).

    Mary Baldwin University publications follow The Associated Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law except in the specific instances as defined in the Accepted Usage section of the Style Guide.
