Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)

cadet Alessandra Gonzalez-RiveraMary Baldwin University’s Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL) encorporates ROTC programs for women. All VWIL cadets participate for 2-4 years in the ROTC program.  Although cadets are not required to commission in the United States Armed Services, about 50% of the corps seeks a commission. ROTC is an excellent leadership development program regardless of your career objectives. You may choose Army, Navy, Marine Corps or Air Force ROTC hosted weekly at the Virginia Military Institute.  Uniforms and transportation for ROTC classes are provided to cadets by VWIL.  These ROTC class credits also contribute toward Mary Baldwin University’s Leadership Minor.
