Dr. Brenda Bryant battled cancer off and on for some time. Prior to her death, Dr. Brenda Bryant served as the Mary Baldwin University Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Life and as Dean of Students. Dr. Bryant directed the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership since its founding in 1995. As director of the program, her responsibilities included planning, policy making, and assessment. She was particularly noted for her compassion, interest in the development and success of every cadet, and her physical fitness.
As all of us know, she loved VWIL–VWIL was her life. During the past eighteen years she worked with us, she never failed to make sure that VWIL was always at the forefront of all her concerns.
She left a tremendous mark on everybody that had anything to do with her. She was quiet, solemn and very private about her own life and what she was doing. It has been very difficult for all of us to carry on and keep our promise to her. The Corps had the great privilege of getting to know her and her views and thoughts on the Corps.
All proceeds will go to support the Brenda Bryant VWIL Scholarship fund.
